Booking choice: The Albertina entry ticket, from $23 per person. Check dates Tour details
Short answer: not for adults. The Albertina has no free day in its 2026 price list, and the full ticket costs EUR 20.90. But a lot of visitors pay nothing: everyone under 19, members of the Friends of the Albertina, ICOM members and Kulturpass holders.
Passes are the other route. The Vienna PASS includes one Albertina entry. The Vienna City Card does not; it takes EUR 2 off at the ticket desk. The details matter, so here they are.
The quick answer
Free for under-19s (bring ID), Friends of the Albertina, ICOM members and Kulturpass holders. Adults pay EUR 20.90, or EUR 17.50 if over 65 or under 26. The Vienna PASS covers one entry; the Vienna City Card saves EUR 2 at the desk. Free museums in Vienna include the Wien Museum's permanent exhibition.
Is the Albertina museum free?
Not for adults: the full ticket is EUR 20.90 in 2026. It is free for under-19s and a few other groups.
Here is the museum's 2026 price list for the Albertina on Albertinaplatz. The reduced prices for the Vienna City Card, Ö1 Club, ICOM and Kulturpass are given only at the museum's ticket desk, not online.

Not in a free group? The entry ticket covers the whole museum, with no time slot.
Check dates for the Albertina entry ticketIs the Albertina free for children and teenagers?
Yes. Everyone under 19 goes in free at all three Albertina venues, with a EUR 0 ticket.
The free ticket covers everything an adult ticket does: the State Rooms, Monet to Chagall and every show. You can pick up the EUR 0 ticket in the museum's web shop or at the desk. Bring ID for anyone near the age line: the museum asks seniors, under-19s, 19 to 26-year-olds and visitors with disabilities to show it at the entrance.
A companion of a blind visitor or a wheelchair user also goes in free, and wheelchairs can be borrowed at the cloakroom at no cost.

Who else gets free entry to the Albertina?
Members of the Friends of the Albertina, ICOM members and Kulturpass holders. Journalists can ask the press office ahead of a visit.
For locals and repeat visitors, the annual pass is the real "free entry": EUR 78 for 365 days of membership in the Friends of the Albertina. It covers all three venues, skips the entrance queue, and adds free audio guides and a free checkroom. At EUR 20.90 a visit, it pays off on the fourth one.
There are no group tickets and no group discounts: each person needs a ticket of their own.
Is the Albertina included in the Vienna PASS?
Yes. The Vienna PASS lists the Albertina among its 85+ attractions, with one entry per pass.
The digital Vienna PASS runs for 1, 2, 3 or 6 days and covers each attraction once. Next to the Albertina it includes Schönbrunn (with a time-slot booking), the Kunsthistorisches Museum, the Upper and Lower Belvedere, the Hofburg, the Imperial Treasury and the hop-on hop-off buses on four routes. It does not include public transport. Children under 6 go free with an adult pass holder.
On GetYourGuide it starts from $122, rated 4.4 from 3,244 reviews. Full details are on the Vienna PASS page.

One Albertina entry plus Schönbrunn, the Belvedere, the Hofburg and the hop-on buses, on a digital pass for 1, 2, 3 or 6 days.
Explore the Vienna PASS Tour detailsDoes the Vienna City Card get you into the Albertina free?
No. The Vienna City Card gives EUR 2 off at the Albertina's ticket desk: EUR 18.90 instead of EUR 20.90.
The City Card is mainly a public transport ticket with discounts attached. Per the Vienna Tourist Board it costs EUR 19 for 24 hours, EUR 31 for 48 hours, EUR 37 for 72 hours and EUR 39 for 7 days. At Albertina Modern the card price is EUR 15.90.
The catch: the City Card price is only sold at the museum desk. If you have the card anyway for the trams, use it. If you do not, buy the regular ticket and skip the desk.
Buy ahead, walk in on any day: the entry ticket has no time slot and cancels free up to 24 hours before.

Per the Vienna Tourist Board, the Wien Museum Karlsplatz permanent exhibition costs nothing, and its special exhibitions are free for under-19s and on the first Sunday of the month. The first Sunday also opens the Wien Museum's smaller sites and the Museum of Military History to all. Here is the board's list:

Is a Vienna pass worth it for the Albertina?
Only if you pack in three or more big sights a day. For the Albertina alone, or with one more museum, single tickets come out cheaper.
Do the sums with the museum prices. The Albertina (EUR 20.90) and the Upper Belvedere (EUR 23) add up to EUR 43.90 for two sights. Add Schönbrunn, the Hofburg or the Kunsthistorisches Museum on the same day and a pass starts to win, especially with the hop-on buses between them. Our reading of the Vienna PASS reviews: the happy buyers are the ones who planned busy days.
- Under 19: skip the pass for museums. They are free anyway.
- One or two museums a day: buy the Albertina entry ticket (from $23) and pay as you go.
- Three or more sights a day: the Vienna PASS.
- Lots of tram rides: the City Card, for the transport more than the EUR 2.

Is the Albertina combined ticket cheaper?
Yes, if you visit Albertina Modern as well: EUR 29.90 for both instead of EUR 38.80, a saving of EUR 8.90.
The combined ticket gives one entry each to the Albertina, Albertina Modern and Albertina Klosterneuburg, on different days if you like, within a year. Klosterneuburg is closed from 16 November 2026 to March 2027, so this winter it is a two-venue ticket. Over-65s and under-26s pay EUR 24.90; under-19s nothing.
Every price, online and at the desk, is in the Albertina ticket price guide.

The standard way in: the 20 State Rooms, Monet to Chagall and every exhibition on the day, with free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
