Good Vienna Tours · Prinz-Eugen-Straße 27
A 90-minute guided tour of the Upper Belvedere with priority entry, headphones and a licensed guide: Klimt's The Kiss, Schiele, the Marble Hall. Pick it if you want the stories behind the paintings and no worry about the Belvedere's time slots.

Many people look for The Kiss at the Albertina. The Kiss is not at the Albertina. Klimt's golden painting of 1907 to 1908 hangs in the Upper Belvedere, a short tram ride from the Albertina; the Albertina's own Klimt holdings are drawings, kept in storage like most of its works on paper. This tour is the guided way to see it: a licensed guide meets the group at the Upper Belvedere, handles entry and walks you through the collection in about 90 minutes.
The route takes in the Klimt rooms with The Kiss, works by Schiele, Monet and van Gogh, and the Marble Hall, where the Austrian State Treaty was signed. You get an audio device with headphones, so you hear the guide without crowding round. One guest notes the tour covers the first floor, the most important one, and that you can stay inside afterwards for the second floor and the temporary show. There are three formats: a regular group of up to 24, a small group of up to 8, or a private tour.
The Belvedere sells every ticket with a time slot, and the official Upper Belvedere ticket costs EUR 23 in 2026. The tour includes your entry. It does not include getting there or the Lower Belvedere at the bottom of the garden, which has its own ticket. Be on time: the listing says there are no refunds if you arrive late or miss the start.
From the Albertina, walk two minutes to the Kärntner Ring/Oper stop by the State Opera and ride tram D to Schloss Belvedere. The Upper Belvedere entrance is at Prinz-Eugen-Straße 27, a short walk from the stop.
Meet the guide at the Upper Belvedere. Arrive early: late arrivals lose the tour and the money.
Priority entry, headphones on, then the palace built for Prince Eugene of Savoy and the start of the collection.
The Klimt rooms, The Kiss, then Schiele and the painters around 1900, with the guide explaining what to look for.
The tour finishes in the palace after about 90 minutes. Stay on for the upper floor and the temporary show, or step into the garden.
★★★★★The tour guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, the flow of the tour kept me engaged at all times. It is great for someone who is interested in art but does not know a lot about art history!
★★★★★With this tour I got the overview of the main artworks as well as interesting stories about the painters and descriptions about the difference between each period. [...] The tour covers floor 1 which is the most important. In the end, it is possible remain inside the museum and take a look at exhibiton on 2nd floor and the temporary one.
★★★★★Alessandra was simply excellent: very knowledgeable, engaging, and able to convey her passion with great ease. [...] We discovered interesting aspects of art history, Viennese painting, and even the history of Eugene of Savoy, in a narrative that was always rich and never heavy.
★★★★★I really enjoyed the activity, especially thanks to our Italian guide Raffaele, who made the museum visit very interesting for my daughters as well.
