Albertina ticket prices

One Albertina ticket gets you into the whole museum for a day, and most of the price questions come down to who you are and which building you want. Here is every 2026 price, plus the extras that cost a few euros more.

The Albertina keeps its pricing simple. There is one adult price, one reduced price for seniors and under-26s, and free entry for everyone under 19. What you pay for is the whole museum on that day: the 20 Habsburg State Rooms, Monet to Chagall (the Batliner Collection) and every temporary exhibition running at the time. No extra tickets for the big shows.

Where people get tripped up is the second building. Albertina Modern on Karlsplatz has its own ticket, and only the combined ticket covers both. A few discounts also exist only at the museum's ticket desk, not in any web shop. Both are below.

The quick answer

An adult ticket to the Albertina costs EUR 20.90 in 2026; seniors 65+ and visitors under 26 pay EUR 17.50, and under-19s go free. Albertina Modern is EUR 17.90, and the combined ticket for all venues EUR 29.90. Tickets have no time slot and stay valid for a year from purchase.

How much are Albertina tickets in 2026?

EUR 20.90 for an adult at the main Albertina, EUR 17.50 reduced, free under 19. Albertina Modern costs EUR 17.90 and the combined ticket EUR 29.90.

These are the museum's own 2026 prices, the same in its web shop and at the desk. The main ticket covers the entire building on Albertinaplatz once. The Modern ticket covers only the exhibition halls of the Künstlerhaus on Karlsplatz, on the ground and basement floors. Klosterneuburg, the third venue outside the city, is closed from 16 November 2026 until March 2027.

Is the Albertina free for children and students?

Children and teenagers under 19 go free at every Albertina venue. Students are not a separate category: anyone under 26 pays the reduced EUR 17.50.

Under-19s still need a ticket, even a free one. The web shop issues them at EUR 0, which saves a stop at the desk. Visitors from 19 up to 26 pay the reduced price whether they study or not, and so do over-65s.

A few more groups get in free: Friends of the Albertina (the annual members), ICOM members and Kulturpass holders. Visitors with special needs pay EUR 7 at the main museum and nothing at Albertina Modern, and a person accompanying a blind visitor or a wheelchair user enters free.

Reduced tickets need proof at the door: seniors, under-19s, visitors aged 19 to 26 and visitors with disabilities show a valid ID along with the ticket. The full picture of free days, passes and cards is in the free entry and passes guide.

No time slot to pick: one ticket, any day within a year, the whole museum.

How much is the combined ticket for the Albertina and Albertina Modern?

EUR 29.90 for adults and EUR 24.90 reduced in 2026. It gives one entry to each venue, and you can use them on different days within a year.

Bought separately, the two Vienna buildings cost EUR 38.80 for an adult, so the combined ticket is the cheaper way to see both. It also includes Klosterneuburg, which is closed from 16 November 2026 until March 2027. Because the ticket runs for a year from purchase, a combined ticket bought this winter can still take you to Klosterneuburg once it reopens, if your trip allows.

Is the Modern worth adding? It shows modern and contemporary art only: Vasarely and Adrian until 10 January 2027, Franz West from 6 November 2026. Albertina vs Albertina Modern compares the two buildings room by room.

How much is the Albertina ticket on GetYourGuide?

The entry ticket starts from $23 per person on GetYourGuide. It is sold by the Albertina itself, covers the same museum and has the same open date.

The entry ticket (4.7 from 2,548 reviews) lists admission to the Albertina plus the temporary exhibitions, shows "Valid 1 - 365 days" and cancels free up to 24 hours before. Which Albertina discounts are only available at the ticket desk?

Vienna City Card, Ö1 Club, ICOM and Kulturpass prices are sold only at the museum's ticket desk. With a City Card the Albertina costs EUR 18.90 instead of EUR 20.90.

Bring the card itself; the desk checks it. The 2026 desk prices:

  • Vienna City Card: EUR 18.90 at the Albertina, EUR 15.90 at Albertina Modern.
  • Ö1 Club members: EUR 18.90 at the Albertina, EUR 14.90 at Albertina Modern.
  • ICOM members and Kulturpass holders: free.

The City Card itself costs EUR 19 for 24 hours, EUR 31 for 48 and EUR 37 for 72, per the Vienna Tourist Board, and its main value is public transport. The EUR 2 at the Albertina is a bonus, not a reason to buy it. The Vienna PASS works differently: it includes one Albertina entry outright. The Vienna PASS page has the details.

Do Albertina tickets have a time slot, and how long are they valid?

No time slot. Every ticket bought in advance is valid for one year from the date of purchase, for one entry during opening hours.

That makes the Albertina one of the easiest museums in Vienna to plan around. Buy now, go on whichever day the weather turns. Opening hours are daily 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and until 9 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays. The museum accepts tickets on a phone or printed at home.

Three small things the official ticket page spells out:

  • The confirmation e-mail with your tickets can take up to one business day. Check spam before you panic.
  • A ticket in hand does not rule out a wait outside on busy days, when a queue can form in front of the building.
  • Special events can close parts of the State Rooms. The museum says to phone +43 1 534 83 500 to check the day.

Valid for a year, no slot to miss: book the open-dated entry and keep your Vienna days flexible.

How much does the Albertina audio guide cost?

The museum's smartphone guide costs EUR 5 per venue (EUR 3 in Austrian Sign Language). Public guided tours cost EUR 6 on top of the entry ticket.

The smartphone guide is a code card, not an app: scan the QR code and the tour plays in your phone's browser. Bring headphones, and use the free Wi-Fi. For the State Rooms and Monet to Chagall it comes in German, English, Italian, Czech, Russian, Spanish, Ukrainian, French, Korean, Chinese and Japanese. The Picasso - Bacon tour is in German and English only. Albertina Modern has no smartphone guide at the moment.

Two things cost nothing. The lockers on Level -1 are free (the main cloakroom charges), and you will need them: backpacks and umbrellas are not allowed in the galleries. If you would rather have the commentary sorted before you arrive, the ticket with app audio tour bundles entry and a narrated route.

Does the Albertina offer group discounts or an annual pass?

There are no group discounts or group tickets: every visitor needs an individual ticket. The annual pass, membership of the Friends of the Albertina, costs EUR 78 for 365 days.

Groups do not need to register, with or without their own guide. The museum recommends buying everyone's tickets online in advance so nobody waits at the desk. If you book an Albertina guide, the tickets are held for you at the desk.

The annual pass pays for itself on the fourth visit at the adult price, and it gives free entry to all venues. For most visitors on a short trip, a single ticket is the right call. For a family, remember the under-19s cost nothing, so only the adults need paying for. Online you can pay by credit card, PayPal or instant bank transfer.
