Österreichische Galerie Belvedere · Prinz-Eugen-Straße 27
Entry to the Upper Belvedere and its permanent collection with a time slot, sold by the Belvedere itself. If The Kiss is on your Vienna list, this is the ticket for it: it hangs here, not at the Albertina.

The Kiss is not at the Albertina. Klimt's golden painting of 1907 to 1908 hangs in the Upper Belvedere, a short tram ride from the Albertina; the Albertina's own Klimt holdings are drawings, kept in storage like most of its works on paper. This ticket is entry to the Upper Belvedere, the baroque palace built for Prince Eugene of Savoy, with its permanent collection Picture this! from Cranach to Lassnig, The Kiss and the world's largest collection of Klimt paintings. The temporary show CARLONE CONTEMPORARY: Asta Gröting runs until 29 March 2027.
Unlike the Albertina, the Belvedere uses time slots at every venue. You pick a time when you book and should be at the entrance 15 minutes before it. The official Upper Belvedere price is EUR 23 in 2026 (EUR 19 for over-65s and under-26s, free under 19), and the museum is open daily 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Lower Belvedere at the foot of the garden is a separate ticket; the museum's own Upper and Lower day ticket costs EUR 32.
Food and drinks, luggage, large bags and selfie sticks are not allowed. There is no guide or audio guide in the price; an audio guide is sold on site. For the art explained, the Belvedere guided tour adds a licensed guide.
Choose a date and time. Take the 9 a.m. opening slot and you are back in town for the Albertina's 10 a.m. opening.
From the Albertina, walk two minutes to the Kärntner Ring/Oper stop by the State Opera and ride tram D to Schloss Belvedere. The Upper Belvedere entrance is at Prinz-Eugen-Straße 27, a short walk from the stop.
Be at the Upper Belvedere entrance 15 minutes before your slot so you keep it. Show the ticket on your phone.
Plan about 90 minutes: Klimt and Vienna around 1900, the Marble Hall, then the rest of the collection.
Walk down through the baroque garden, or ride tram D back to the Opera and the Albertina.
