Vienna Pass · Digital pass on your phone

One pass, the Albertina included

A digital pass for 1, 2, 3 or 6 days with one entry each to 85+ Vienna sights, the Albertina among them, plus unlimited hop-on hop-off buses. It earns its price on full days with three or more big sights, not on a slow day with one museum.

Vienna PASS, 1 to 6 Days

About this experience

The Vienna PASS is a QR code on your phone. You show it at the entrance of each attraction, and the attraction list names the Albertina Museum & Art Gallery next to Schönbrunn Palace, the Hofburg, the Upper and Lower Belvedere, the Spanish Riding School, the Kunsthistorisches Museum and more than 50 others. At the Albertina that one entry gets you the same museum as a normal ticket: the 20 Habsburg State Rooms, the Batliner Collection and every exhibition running that day. Unlimited rides on the hop-on hop-off buses (4 routes, 50 stops) link the sights.

Read the rules before you count on it. Each attraction once: the Albertina is one visit, not a season ticket. No public transport: trams, buses and the U-Bahn are not included, only the sightseeing buses. Days are calendar days, midnight to midnight, and the pass starts at the first scan, so a pass first used at 3 p.m. has already lost most of day one. Albertina Modern is a separate building on Karlsplatz with its own ticket; check the pass's own attraction list before you plan on it there. And The Kiss is not at the Albertina. Klimt's golden painting of 1907 to 1908 hangs in the Upper Belvedere, a short tram ride from the Albertina; the Albertina's own Klimt holdings are drawings, kept in storage like most of its works on paper.

The pass's own shop lists regular prices of EUR 109 for one day, EUR 149 for two days, EUR 175 for three days and EUR 199 for six days, and children aged 6 to 18 from EUR 55, with online specials often a little lower; under 6 go free with a pass-holding adult. Set that against desk prices: the Albertina costs EUR 20.90 in 2026 and the Upper Belvedere EUR 23. Two museums alone do not cover a day pass. Add Schönbrunn, the Hofburg and a hop-on loop on the same days and it starts to pay for itself.

  • One entry to the Albertina: State Rooms, Batliner Collection, all shows
  • Schönbrunn Palace with an online time-slot booking
  • The Upper and Lower Belvedere, home of The Kiss
  • Unlimited hop-on hop-off buses on 4 routes and 50 stops
  • Fast-track entry at many sights, plus a guidebook

How the day runs

  1. Before you goPlan the big days

Pick the sights first, then the pass length. Book the Schönbrunn time slot through the pass, and check which other sights need a reservation.

  2. Day one, earlyFirst scan starts the clock

The pass activates at the first attraction you enter and counts calendar days. Start in the morning, not after lunch.

  3. 10 a.m.Albertina at opening

Show the QR code at the Albertina entrance on Albertinaplatz 1. Plan 1.5 to 2 hours for the State Rooms and Monet to Chagall, longer with the current shows.

  4. MiddayHofburg next door

The Hofburg borders the Albertina. The Hofburg Imperial Palace is on the pass list; the treasury and the Spanish Riding School are close by too.

  5. AfternoonBus or tram to the Belvedere

Ride the hop-on bus, or pay for tram D from the Opera to Schloss Belvedere, for The Kiss in the Upper Belvedere.

  6. Next daysSchönbrunn and the rest

Give Schönbrunn its own morning in your time slot, then work through the list. Each sight takes the pass once.

This card is very good value. We made the most of it in just one day. It paid for itself quickly. I recommend it to anyone who wants to visit museums and paid activities.

Tips before you book

  • Do the sums on paper first. List the sights you will really visit, add up their desk prices, and compare with the pass for that many days.
  • Put the Albertina on a busy day, not a slow one. On a quiet museum day a single Albertina ticket makes more sense.
  • Late opening helps: the Albertina stays open until 9 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday, so it can be the last stop of a long pass day.
  • Bring a passport or ID card. The listing asks for one, and the pass service centre is at Opernring 3-5, a few minutes from the Albertina.
  • Leave backpacks and umbrellas at the hotel or in the free lockers on Level -1: they are not allowed in the Albertina galleries.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Albertina included in the Vienna PASS?

Yes. The attraction list names the Albertina Museum & Art Gallery, with one entry covering the State Rooms, the Batliner Collection and the exhibitions on that day. Each attraction can be visited once.

Does the Vienna PASS include public transport?

No. It includes unlimited hop-on hop-off sightseeing buses, but not Vienna's trams, buses or U-Bahn. The Vienna City Card is the transport card, with an Albertina discount of EUR 2.

How is a Vienna PASS day counted?

In calendar days, midnight to midnight, starting with the first scan at an attraction. A 1-day pass first used in the afternoon ends at midnight the same day.

Is the Vienna PASS worth it for the Albertina alone?

Not for one museum. The Albertina costs EUR 20.90 at the desk in 2026. The pass pays off when you add Schönbrunn, the Hofburg, the Belvedere and other big sights on the same days.
